George Schwegmann - Super Concept
2015 - 22” x 28”
Acrylic on Board
As it's clever title suggests, Super Concept presents an innovative approach to a traditional theme. This playful and inventive sunset view of San Antonio's beautiful Mission Concepción superimposes the historic 18th century mission on top of itself. The foreground image shows the upper half, complete with the pediment above the portal, and the twin bell towers. The background presents a detail of the portal just below where the image in the foreground ends, essentially creating a split moment in time from multiple perspectives.

Product Details
Item # - IGSP-8001 Super Concept (2015) Acrylic on Canvas Image Size 22" x 28" Framed 30" x 36" Item Two pigeons are captured mid-flight in this lovely sunset painting rich in San Antonio's architectural and historical heritage. A noteworthy detail of the image is the artists' use of light. Because this is a single moment in time, the bell towers in the foreground show more sunlight as darkness begins to spread across the portal. The background detail of the portal reflects the same moment accordingly with softer tones less impacted by the rays of the sun. NOTICE: Shipping is not included with this item. The Paintings of George Schwegmann
George Schwegmann is a native of San Antonio who has grown up with a deep appreciation for the rich, natural, historical and cultural environment of South Central Texas. With a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and two years of Architectural Design, this self-taught artist depicts a wide variety of unique visual compositions. George is an award winning member of the San Antonio River Art Group. In 1997 he won First Prize in the River Art's Exhibition & Competition in the Acrylics as Watercolors category, judged by Dalhart Windberg, a renown Texas artist. His paintings have won numerous awards from 1997 to the present. Over the past decade, admiration for his work has grown rapidly as several gallery owners and private collectors have added his paintings to their collections. |
Constantly challenging and exploring the use of acrylics and watercolor to achieve excellence in representational art is the continuing quest for this local Texas artist. His Central Texas subjects include the San Antonio missions, Hill Country landscapes, bluebonnets, quail, turkey, deer, and longhorns. His love for the Texas coast is shown in his shrimp-boats, fish, waterfowl, and seascapes.
